So I just spent the long weekend in Vermont. That is one awesome state. It's absolutely gorgeous, as long as you can ignore the temperature, which tends to hover around 4 degrees. As far as I can tell, everyone has very large garages, but they leave their cars outside in 4 feet of snow because their garages are full of snow equipment (snow blowers, snow melters, snow scrapers, snow brushes, snow mobiles, snow plows, and also huge garbage cans full of salt) and of course, the beer pong table and the beer, which they just leave in the garage because it is colder there than in the refrigerator. Pretty much every activity in Vermont consists of drinking while doing something else in a defense against the cold. Awesome.
Plus, they have really good beers up there.

Indiana Jones and The Grab For More Cash
Indy trailer
Wow, this looks AWFUL. Did they film this inside the ride at Disneyland or are those supposed to be real places? I looks so much like a set that its ridiculous. And do they show the clips from the old movies to make us remember which movie memories they'll be raping come May? (stole that line from my brother).
Seriously ... Jar Jar looks like a good idea after this ...

Ideas? Help!
Greg and I will be in the Bay Area Feb 22-25. Any suggestions of what we should do while we're there? I can think of a million things to do in San Francisco and Marin, but he's most interested in seeing Berkeley and getting a feel for where I went to school. Ideas?

I wish I could say I had been there...
I can't think of anything funny and clever and blog worthy to say, but I thought this was funny.

My two favorite things! (Aside from old people)
Let's all say a prayer I get into Yale. It turns out that BETTE MIDLER is on the Dean's Council for the Yale School of Architecture!!!!!!! I must go there.

the internet is for...
I keep my iPod plugged into a pair of computer speakers on my desk at work, and I normally leave it playing on random shuffle all day when I'm at my desk. I just got up to get a glass of water, and when I got back to my desk, the iPod was playing "The Internet is for Porn" from Avenue Q. Loudly. Keep in mind, I don't have my own office.

I miss everyone!
It felt weird ringing in a new year without any of you. Did everyone have fun? Happy New Year!

The Shame of Middle America
Yet another reason to dislike Mike Huckabee...
From the New York Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/12/magazine/16huckabee.html?_r=2&pagewanted=3&hp&oref=slogin
"It has been a startlingly quick transformation. Six weeks ago, I met Huckabee for lunch at an Olive Garden restaurant in Midtown Manhattan. (I had offered to take him anywhere he wanted and then vetoed his first choice, T.G.I. Friday’s.)"

SNOW! And racism.
It SNOWED in DC yesterday. So freakin' awesome! We got home from work and immediately put on galoshes and ran outside to walk around in it. Considering that last year at this time the weather at home was colder than the bright and sunny 75 degree weather in DC, we were pretty stoked with the snowfall.
On our walk last night, we came across this little guy and it made us happy:

Of course, because he's racist, Wes pointed out that the Asian owners of the liquor market this snowman was in front of had given the snowman slanty eyes. Classy.
